OUR PARTNERS

As an ecumenical Christian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU) depends mainly on donor funding. HFHU’s donors, both local and international include individuals, families, corporates, Churches, tithing affiliates and funding agencies e.t.c. The largest funding however comes from Corporates and Tithing Affiliates.

Corporate Partners:

MTN UGANDA LIMITED:

MTN has been HFH Uganda’s biggest local sponsor. The partnership with MTN started in 1999 with a sponsorship of 100 homes. Since then MTN has sponsored a total 182 homes in over 19 districts with HFH Uganda Operations.

In 2006 MTN renewed its partnership with HFH Uganda for a further 3 year period, 70 (Seventy) more families are set to benefit from the partnership. This will bring the total of MTN sponsored homes to 252. At the average Uganda family size of 6 people per home -MTN will have provided decent shelter for 1,512 individuals by 2008.  

Apart from housing sponsorship, MTN has provided funding for; Habitat events, signage for all HFH Uganda affiliates through out the country and continues to encourage its staff to participate in Hands-On house construction at the different HFH Uganda affiliates.

BARCLAYS BANK UGANDA LIMITED

Barclays Bank has provided housing sponsorship for over 33 families and encourages staff participation in Hands-On house construction at the HFH affiliates. Barclays Bank has partnered with HFH Uganda since 2003. 

STANBIC BANK UGANDA LIMITED
Stanbic sponsored the development of a Stanbic Bank Village (Housing Estate) that will benefit mostly widow and child headed households. 45 families will benefit from the sponsorship. Stanbic Bank also brings out its staff to participate (Hands-On) in the development of the village project located in Nama-Mukono, a 45 minutes drive east of the capital Kampala. Stanbic Bank has partnered with HFH Uganda since 2003.

CITIBANK

Citibank, one of Habitat for Humanity’s Global partners, provides annual sponsorship for the construction of homes in HFH’s programs worldwide. In Uganda, Citibank has since 2003 housed over 15 families and also brought out its staff to participate in Hands-On home construction.


HIMA CEMENT
Hima Cement, the Lafarge Operations in Uganda, has partnered with HFH Uganda since 2004 providing 1,290 bags of cement worth over Ug. Shillings 23,000,000 ($13,637). With each HFH Uganda built home taking 32 cement bags, the cement has helped in the construction of up to 41 homes. Through the Hima-Habitat partnership, 12 other corporates also provided funding worth Ug. Shillings 22,126,000 ($12,643).


RWENZORI BEVERAGE CO. LTD
Rwenzori Beverage Company has provided funding for 4 homes since 2003. The Beverage Company also provides in-kind donations of water for HFH Uganda events.


OTHER CORPORATES THAT HAVE PROVIDED FUNDING TO HFH UGANDA INCLUDE:

Century Bottling Company Ltd (Coca-Cola), MoneyGram International, Roofings Ltd, Spedag, Mantrac, Group 4 security, United Assurance, AON, Celtel, Multichoice, Pricewaterhouse, Deloitte, Housing Finance Company of Uganda, House of Kaine, Ibero Coffee Uganda Ltd, National Housing & Construction Corporation (NH&CC), Nile Bank, Shell Uganda, The International School of Uganda (ISU) and Rainbow International School.  


Tithing Partners:
                                    
Habitat for Humanity® encourages all its Habitat Affiliates worldwide to tithe from their locally raised funds. The tithing is done on an annual or monthly basis to help facilitate home construction in another Habitat program of the affiliate’s choice. 

HFH Uganda’s current tithing partners include;
Cobb County HFH, St. Tammany West HFH, Midland HFH, Syracuse HFH, York HFH, Kent County HFH, Omaha HFH, HFH of Jacksonville, Kansas City HFH, Central Peninsula HFH, Fergus Falls Area HFH, Hartford Area HFH, Bennington Area HFH, HFH Canada, Wichita HFH Inc, Troup Chambers, Garland County HFH and Camden HFH Metropolitan.
