The Nama Stanbic Village Project
Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU), in partnership with Stanbic Bank Uganda, implemented the Nama Stanbic Village Project—an initiative that provided safe, decent, and affordable housing to vulnerable families in Nama Sub-county, Mukono District. The project aimed to improve the living conditions, dignity, and wellbeing of low-income households through the construction of durable houses. To demonstrate the impact of this partnership and to support future fundraising and donor re-engagement, HFHU intends to produce an audio-visual documentary capturing real-life transformation stories of the project’s beneficiaries.
In today’s digital era, storytelling through visual media is a powerful tool for advocacy and resource mobilization. The planned documentation will capture emotional
narratives, testimonies, and visual evidence of the life-changing impact that decent housing has made on families and the community at large.
Targeted Participants
The audio-visual documentation will feature selected partner families from the Nama Stanbic Village, local leaders, community members, and HFHU staff who played key roles in the project’s success.
The Assignment
An external professional videographer/documentation team will be engaged to conduct on-site interviews, narrations, and footage capturing.
The documentation will focus on:
- Housing Transformation: Beneficiary families narrate how improved shelter has enhanced their quality of life.
- Economic Empowerment: How stable housing has enabled beneficiaries to focus on income-generating activities.
- Health and Hygiene Improvements: The impact of improved sanitation and living environments on family wellbeing.
- Partnership Impact: Reflections from Stanbic Bank Uganda representatives, HFHU staff, and local leaders on the power of collaboration in transforming lives.
Footage will include before-and-after visuals, and community perspectives, to depict the transformation comprehensively. HFHU Communication staff will guide the service provider during filming and facilitate access to selected participants.
Key Deliverables
Planned Outputs:
- A professionally produced short documentary (7–10 minutes) capturing at least three compelling beneficiary stories, community perspectives, and key partner
- A collection of high-quality photo and video clips for HFHU’s communication, advocacy, and fundraising purposes.
Expected Outcomes:
The video will vividly illustrate the transformative power of the Nama Stanbic Village Project, helping HFHU re-engage Stanbic Bank and attract new partners by showcasing tangible results and human impact.
Program Quality Markers
The documentation will ensure balanced representation of men, women, youth, and persons with disabilities, emphasizing inclusiveness, dignity, and empowerment. The final product will serve as an advocacy and fundraising tool that emotionally connects donors and partners to the mission of “Turning on Dreams through Decent Housing.”
